Since there might be room for a walk-in closet…

We really love our duplex apartment, but it really lacks storage (after two years we still haven’t figured out where to store our vacuum cleaner), kitchen appliances (who needs an oven anyway, right?) and parking space in front of our doorstep (oh, the horror!) So for the past few months we’ve been talking about where we both want to live, whether we might be able to get a downpayment on a tiny home of our own or keep on renting for a little while longer and move to a different rental house or apartment

As we haven’t figured out where we want to live for the rest of our lives yet (um, I’m 23, that’s totally OK), we’re probably going to end up renting for at least 2-3 more years. So we’ve been home-hunting, even visited some, and chances are we might settle down for a small house just outside the city centre. And I’m not looking forward to the moving part at all, but with a little bit of luck we might be able to make room for a walk-in closet in our new home. Something I’ve wanted since – sort of – forever. (Doesn’t every girl dream of a walk-in closet?)

Of course I already started a new board on Pinterest channeling inspiration for our potential new (low-budget) walk-in closet and I couldn’t be more excited! Take a look with me:

The basics can be found at IKEA: Kallax shelves with inserts, Lack wall mounts and lots of clothes hangers. (1 / 2 / 3)

I’m dreaming of constructing my own clothing racks out of (copper) pipes. Seems like a doable DIY project to me. (1 / 2 / 3)

And of course, my walk-in closet would need the mandatory chair slash eye catcher. (1 / 2 / 3)

(I always wonder where people with gorgeous walk-in closets store their sweatpants and rainbow tees. Are they using a separate room for that, or what?! Can’t imagine my closet looking anything like that. I’ll probably end up owning an in-house 80s style thrift store instead.)
